Bett Conference 2012

Thanks for a great opportunity Edsoft!

I was lucky enough to attend the Learning Technology two day PD held by Edsoft in 2011, and I completed a ‘passport’ which
entailed visiting each exhibit at the PD and gaining a stamp. I was successfully drawn out of the hat and presented with the
information about the trip and BETT.

Prior to arriving at BETT I travelled through Scotland and visited a school in Aberdeen – Camphill School which is similar to my
current school Northern School for Autism and had a fantastic visit and discussion with the Head Teacher.

I arrived at Olympia, for BETT on the Wednesday and was overwhelmed with the amount of exhibits and the amount of people.
Walking through the exhibits it was great to be able to find a number of exhibits which were beneficial for my teaching and
school from the SEN section to the technology exhibits. I attended a number of presentations throughout the four days which
were mostly based around Special Needs, from new apps to policies and procedures in the UK and Europe.

I really enjoyed the Promethean stand as I was taken on a tour through all of the latest equipment and teaching tools that are
available and I found it really interesting to see what is available for schools and teaching and learning.  As we have many
Promethean boards within our school it was very beneficial for me to see what is now available and possible to do with
Active Inspire.

I also attended the cocktail party on the Thursday night at the Hand and Flower and was able to see Eugene Viskovic address
the crowd, along with meeting some of the staff who work for Promethean both in Australia and abroad and discuss the
technology and talk about BETT. It was a really enjoyable evening getting to meet people within the industry and learn more
about the products which are available for schools.

Thanks for a great opportunity  Edsoft!
