Business software includes that used by an individual as well as software used to manage the operations of a firm.  In terms of an individual workspace, Windows 7 is an operating system, Microsoft Office is an office suite, Symantec is an anti-virus – all of these are software.  Company-wide software that an employee may come in contact with includes accounting software, customer relationship software (CRM), enterprise resource planning software (ERP) and human resources software. Individuals use software to plan meetings, create reports and disseminate information. Presentation software enables individuals and companies to present important information to colleagues, customers, suppliers and investors. 

Home software is software used in the home. The most well known software package used in the home is Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010. Software is also used extensively in the home for entertainment whether that be for gaming or on portable entertainment devices such as ipads.  Some of the most well known software used in the home is used by students and includes Inspiration, Adobe Student and Teacher Editions and Photoshop, Autograph by Eastmond Publishing and Fathom by Key Curriculum Press.
