The Daily Diary safely shares classroom activities
The Daily Diary is an online communication portal that enables classroom documentation and activities to be shared between teachers and families.
The Daily Diary allows teachers to quickly, easily, and safely share your group’s learning journals, classroom reflections, educational outcomes, important reminders and other ‘whole class’ information amongst families.

The Daily Diary notifies families when something new is published
An email notifies families when teachers have posted information or messages to The Daily Diary, and they can then access that information via a secure, password-protected website.

The Daily Diary helps teachers’ meet the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework
The Daily Diary is being used as a tool for Early Childhood Educators to assist with meeting the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Many teachers are including links to the EYLF in their entries on The Daily Diary, making learning outcomes more visible to families.

The Daily Diary offers support to teachers and families 24/7
The Daily Diary has been created with simplicity in mind. The interface is so simple to use that hardly any training is necessary. You don’t need to be a ‘computer wiz’ to use The Daily Diary – that goes for both teachers and parents. But, in case you do need that extra help, support is always available either by phone, email or face to face. Training videos are also available on the help and support page.

The Daily Diary provides families with a history of classroom learning
The Daily Diary provides parents with a documented history of their children’s activities throughout the year. All documentation is stored on an easy to navigate calendar. Both teachers and families are able to view entries from any date at any time.
At the end of the year, all the entries created on The Daily Diary can be transformed to create a PDF presentation for both your centre’s records and also as a ‘Special Memories’ CD for families to keep. The Daily Diary provides the option to use this CD as a fundraising opportunity for your centre, or you can use it as a special gift to your families.
For more information about the Special Memories CD or the classroom archive CD, email info@thedailydiary.com.au

The Daily Diary encourages communication between parents and their children
The Daily Diary provides a fun and interactive way to display important classroom information and photographs. Children love being a part of sharing their day and spending quality time with their parents discussing their experiences.

Testimonial

“We love being able to offer the Daily Diary to our families. Not only does it allow families to see what their children have been up to during the day but it also allows the staff to educate parents about their curriculums and what learning actually happens during the day which gives the staff great job satisfaction. It is in a professional safe format that allows us to reach many more parents than we have been previously using daily journals.”
Stacey Condon – Owner/Director Lots of Tots ELC

Please read about some of the feedback from teachers and parents using The Daily Diary…..

“I have been using the Daily Diary for my Family Day-care Service. I am finding it extremly user friendly. I find it does not take long for me to have a story and photos on the site every day for the parents to look at when they are ready. The children love to help pick the photo’s that we are going to use. With the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) about to start, I was looking for some way to inform the parents about their child’s day in care. I looked at a number of sites but found the Daily Diary the easiest to use. The parents have said that they like that they can login at their own time and that we are no longer wasting paper. I wish that this had been around when I started my service 13 years ago. Just give a go you will love it like I do.” Liz (Family Day Care Teacher Byron Bay)

“Our teachers have always taken the time to create their daily diaries each day in Word. However, I felt that 21 century learning required something more dynamic and ‘exciting’. I came across The Daily Diary and did not look back. I found it easy to implement as well as easy for the staff to pick up and use. Instead of spending time trying to manipulate documents, our staff are able to create exciting, meaningful diaries that the parents (and our students) enjoy. Parents love the fact that they can view the diaries anytime, anywhere and can look back to past entries.  A bonus of The Daily Diary, is the message board, which allows for messages to be broadcast to a class, a centre, or an individual parent. Finally, in the commercialised world we live in, after sales service is not always available. This is not the case with The Daily Diary, Julie and her team are absolutely fantastic!”
Heather Weltman (IT Systems Implementations Manager Moriah Preschool).

“The Daily Diary is a wonderful tool that gives us (the educators) the opportunity to easily share with families the activities and interests of the children. Not only is The Daily Diary a way for teachers to communicate with families, but it also provides a doorway for families and children to engage in conversations about their preschool experience. Many families have commented on how wonderful it is to have an insight into what happens during the children’s sessions and to actually “see” the children engaged in their interactions.”
Melissa Popley (Albert Park Pre-school)

“The Daily Diary is fabulous: it saves time and is so easy to use! Parents have regular feedback of what their children have done during the day, and special activities and events are communicated and shared with families almost instantly. The Daily Diary serves as a wonderful photo record to show case children’s work and it is user friendly for teachers, parents and children alike!! (Debbie Fanarof – teacher Mt Scopus College Kindergarten FKI campus).

“I think the concept is so fantastic, and so creative, especially for those children in long day care ….great for the dads in particular!”
(Claire deCrespigny – ELC Director Wesley College St Kilda Road).

“The Daily Diary is an exciting, innovative and an amazing tool that not only revolutionizes planning for teachers but also helps to create connections in new and motivating ways. As a Kindergarten Teacher I believe it is essential to work in partnership with the child, family, teachers and the community to not only gain a holistic view of the child but to bridge the gap from home life to kindergarten life. The class room is one tool that has an impact on children’s learning but research supports that families and communities are just as equal when a child is learning. I believe that The Daily Diary helps create these important connections.”
Rowena Thorne (Roseberry House – Bentleigh)

“Whilst working interstate, the Daily Diary has been invaluable - it’s provided access to the daily happenings in my daughter’s kinder class, from projects and photos to messages between teachers and parents.”
(Amanda – Mt Scopus College parent)

“Being so busy at work, I get excited when an email pops up from The Daily Diary and I know I will get to see whats been happening at kinder that day. It’s like an instant window into my daughters little world. I love it and it’s so simple to use”.
(Tammy – Mt Scopus Parent)

“Dear daily diary team, Wow how great! Not only is this great for mums and dads, but also for all our grandparents who are living overseas or interstate…… Well Done!!”
(Alexandra – Bambini Parent)

“My kids are loving seeing themselves on the smartboard and on the computer at home.  It has been a great reading exercise”.
(Kathy Williams – Prep teacher St Josephs School)
